Holy Angels Catholic Academy was formed in 2009.   The Academy is the first co-educational Catholic Academy in Bay Ridge.

Previously known as Our Lady of Angels School, we have been educating children for over 85 years.  The school opened  on September 8, 1924 with an enrollment of 350 students. Since then, thousands of its graduates have made outstanding contributions to the secular and spiritual life of our society.  This legacy has been passed to the present student body.

The school began with four grades, eight classes, four lay teachers and six Sisters of Charity of Halifax.  This first graduation took place in June, 1928.

In 1958, due to increased student enrollments, a new addition to the school was built to hold extra classrooms, science lab, library, gymnasium, cafeteria and administrative offices.

In 1991, the school received accreditation from the Middle States Association of Colleges and School, which was a prestigious accomplishment. This accreditation was renewed in 2001.

In 2008, the Diocese of Brooklyn undertook an initiative known as Sharing the Vision.  An outcome of that initiative was that Our Lady of Angels School was transformed into Holy Angels Catholic Academy of Brooklyn.

We are proud of our history and equally proud to be leading the way in Catholic Education in Brooklyn as Holy Angels Catholic Academy.
